Vice President, Finance

Based in our San Antonio, TX headquarters, the VP Finance will serve as a strategic financial business partner driving actionable insights and informed decision making. The VP Finance will oversee all financial functions including accounting, financial reporting, and treasury across our global operations. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this leadership position is critical in supporting our strategic goals by driving operational excellence, enhancing processes, and fostering a high-performance team culture.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic insights and leadership:
  • Collaborate closely with business leadership on financial decisions
  • Analyze and report key financial and operational results identifying underlying trends and drivers
  • Provide financial insights and analyses to support decision making and strategic initiatives
  • Drive the development of the annual operating plan to meet strategic goals and initiatives
  • Collaborate with the CFO and senior leadership to support growth and strategic goals
  • Lead the financial integration of acquisitions
  • Successfully deliver day to day transactional activities:
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversee all accounting functions including general accounting, payroll, treasury and technical accounting activities
  • Manage the preparation and publication of accurate, timely monthly financial statements
  • Oversee the preparation of quarterly debt compliance calculations and documentation
  • Manage the annual audit including direct interaction with the independent auditors
  • Drive continuous improvement:
  • Implement refreshed, new and globally consistent accounting policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure policy compliance
  • Lead financial process optimization efforts to enhance scalability and operational efficiency
  • Drive the implementation and improvement of ERP systems and financial tools for enhanced efficiency
  • Build, develop and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering professional growth and culture of excellence
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
  • CPA certification required
Experience:
  • 15 years of progressive accounting experience in a multi-national environment with at least 8 years in a leadership position
  • Relevant experience with Big 4 public accounting firm preferred
  • Working in a financial role for a PE-backed portfolio company preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proven ability to build and maintain robust financial systems, delivering actionable insights to inform business strategy
  • Deep understanding of accounting standards, regulations and best practices
  • Industry experience in food or related manufacturing is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, financial modeling, and operational KPIs in a manufacturing setting
  • Experience in managing audits, implementing accounting policies and improving operational processes
  • Proven track record in ERP system implementation and process improvement
  • Experience in M&A, including integration and post-closing performance measurement
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills
  • Superior communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage and inspire high-performing teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and ideas
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Manage direct reports in accounting, financial reporting, and treasury.
  • Work requires supervising and monitoring work performance of direct reports including making final decisions on hiring and disciplinary actions, evaluating program/work objectives and effectiveness, and realigning work and staffing assignments, as needed.
  • Develop functional responsibilities of individuals that report to this position and ensure that best-in class output is created.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • Typical work in office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer that may require repetitive tasks, such as data entry and report generation.
  • Travel required as per business needs (approximately 10%)
