Job Description
At The Ivy, Financial Controller is a key, hands-on role overseeing all day-to-day accounting operations, including budgeting, payroll, financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, audits, and cash control. You will ensure compliance with industry standards, manage asset and liability reconciliation, maintain legal financial documentation, and collaborate with department heads to optimize financial performance.
This onsite position requires flexibility, strong leadership, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in hospitality accounting is required.
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
At least five years of hotel accounting experienceCommand of Excel, etc.Knowledge of accounting systems like ADP, Sun, SAP, Sage, Freshbooks etc.Knowledge of Hotel Software or Property Management Systems like OPERA, ProtelExcellent communication and negotiation skillsPersonable, organized and able to interact at the highest level with guests and staffExcellent financial knowledge and analytical skillsRESPONSIBILITIES
Accounting and financial management for The Ivy Hotel and Restaurant MagdalenaRepresentation of the finance department during daily morning meetingsTax authority complianceSupport the General Manager, Managing Director, and Owners in meeting strategic goalsPrepare and review annual budgets, monthly P&Ls, daily pace reports, and balance ledgersVerify all financial reports and ensure that all transactions are accurate and in compliance with local government regulationsPrepare and submit management reports in a timely mannerImplement all accounting policies and proceduresSafeguard hotel assets through strong operational controlAssist with cost control requirements and revenue enhancement possibilitiesWork closely with all departments and assist when neededMonitor tax compliance, and file local taxes regularlyOversee internal, external and regulatory audit processesEstablish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with staffAny other tasks required by managementAdditional Information
