CH2M HILL BWXT West Valley, LLC (CHBWV) is the prime contractor selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Phase 1 – Facility Disposition Project at the West Valley Demonstration Project. The site is a scenic 30-minute drive south of Buffalo, New York. In cooperation with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, CHBWV continues to decontaminate and decommission facilities at this site.

JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Material Coordinator I/II performs material handling duties which include the delivery and stocking of all materials, supplies, equipment, and other items at CHBWV. The Material Coordinator processes and maintains required administrative records.
REQUIREMENTS/SPECIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:

Grade 6
- Minimum of High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must qualify as fork-lift truck operator, crane operator, and Radiation Worker as required.

Grade 8
- Minimum of High school education or equivalent.
- Must maintain qualifications as fork-lift truck operator, crane operator, and Radiation Worker as required.
- Plus minimum of two (2) years as Materials Coordinator I or equivalent experience in a related capacity.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Microsoft Suite, Excel, Word
- Must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds
Other Requirements:
- Computer skills including basic skills in database management, basic computer proficiency and technical aptitude in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Word and Excel.
- Possess organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to work under general supervision and follow detailed written and verbal instructions to perform assigned tasks according to established procedures.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
- Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by following established safe work practices and procedures; investigating and reporting identified safety concerns or situations.
- Adhere to standards contained in the Company “Code of Conduct,” Company EEO practices, and DOE directives.
- Responsible for attaining department results in a safe and efficient manner by receiving, unloading, inspecting, and delivering stock and non-stock materials, supplies, and chemicals for site use.
- Controls inventory by issuing materials to authorized personnel; processing withdrawals via Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Ensures accurate records by entering all receiving and shipping information into either ERP or SMAC system.
- Maintains proper storage facilities by determining correct storage location for all materials and chemicals; placing no chemical materials in computerized vertical storage units; determining proper location for hazardous chemical shipments.
- Prevents stock shortage by monitoring physical inventory levels.
- Operates material handling equipment and vehicles.
- Fills item requests and secures Warehouse by escorting employees and contractors in the Warehouse; issuing items from the Warehouse Window.
- Assist with GSA Fleet as requested; obtain mileages, schedule maintenance work, process billing, and deliver fleet to needed repair appointments.
- Maintains department historical files by processing and maintaining required administrative records.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
