JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE OF POSITION The Performance Assurance Coordinator III contributes to the implementation of a structured, effective performance assurance program that supports successful project execution and meets customer expectations. Responsible for leading independent, management and work site assessments and program improvement initiatives throughout the organization which support successful project execution and meeting customer expectations. The implementation of a structured, effective performance assurance program is critical to an overall effective ISMS program. |
Other Requirements: - Must possess general knowledge of Performance Assurance Programs and Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS) theories, concepts, techniques, procedures and practices to successfully complete moderately difficult work assignments.
- Must possess general knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), financial, and cost accounting principles and practices to successfully monitor and provide recommendations to departmental managers and supervisors to manage organizational resources within the approved budget and schedule.
- Must be familiar with and comply with all relevant safety and health requirements.
- Must be able to work under general supervision and follow detailed written and verbal instructions to perform assigned tasks according to established procedures.
- Must possess working knowledge of computers, inter/intranet technologies, and software including proficiency in using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must possess well-established personal communication skills required to present information clearly and explain subjects or systems to all levels of personnel within the organization.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS - Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following established safe work practices and procedures; investigating and reporting identified safety concerns or situations.
- Adhere to standards contained in the Company “Code of Conduct,” Company EEO practices, and DOE directives.
- Develops and periodically reviews/revises Performance Assurance/ISMS policies, charters, written description, performance metrics and employee communications.
- Coordinates the preparation of the annual ISMS Performance Objectives, Measures and Commitments.
- Guides and promotes safe work performance by performing Performance Assurance/ISMS assessments using ISMS core/guiding principles, Key Attributes of the Safety Management Program, EMS targets and objectives, POMCs, metrics and other issues resulting from issues or trends.
- Promotes Performance Assurance/ISMS objectives and guiding principles in the workplace by assisting in the development of Performance Assurance/ ISMS training objectives and providing classroom/computer based training as needed to sustain program performance.
- Identifies organizational systems, processes and personnel improvement needs by conducting related assessments; evaluating and summarizing results.
- Supports performance assurance activities by maintaining records/metrics.
- Promotes the integration of safety across projects and facilities by participating on or leading various safety teams or committee(s).
- Coordinates the development and maintenance of various safety plans and surveys.
- Improve awareness of performance assurance and related programs by collecting information and preparing employee communications (i.e. ISMS Newsletter).
- Develop safety reviews and surveys by working with the customer (DOE), and performing periodic assessments.
- Collaborate with managers and employees to create sustainable data development strategy for the collection, organization and management of data that meets the needs of Performance Objectives, etc.
- Collects, inputs, analyzes and interprets statistical data and prepares monthly, annual and other reports related to performance assurance, ISMS and other areas as needed.
- Provides outcome data useful to inform leadership for decision-making purposes, and communicates data to a variety of audiences as requested.
- May perform financial responsibilities as the Cost Account Manager (CAM) for the ESH&Q Department, as assigned by manager. Financial responsibilities may include: variance analysis, coordination with management on impact statements and corrective actions; and monitoring of cost and schedule performance.
- Interface(s) with multiple DOE counterparts regularly to coordinate activities, schedules, assessments, etc.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
