About this role
As a Senior Sales Applications Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the sales process by providing technical expertise to support the Edwards and Kidde Commercial sales teams and their customers. Customers can be our distributors who are trained on our equipment or end users ranging from small commercial businesses to global corporations. Strongly prefer that this individual be located in Bradenton, FL.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and provide technical solutions utilizing our products and software to meet their needs
Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the features and benefits of our solutions
Work closely with customers to design and propose customized solutions that address their specific challenges for a given application
Prepare and deliver technical documentation, including assistance with bills of material, specifications, system configuration, programming concepts, and implementation plans via Salesforce case requests
Assist customers with technical inquiries and provide ongoing support throughout the sales cycle
Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings to provide insights and recommendations for product improvements.
FireWorks project creation, upgrade and database management.
Edwards’ and Kidde Commercial fire system configuration software product – 4-CU, 3-SDU, VM-CU, VS-CU / iO-CU.
Create air aspiration system designs and bills of material using Modulaser Pipecad and Xtralis layout and design software
Design custom spreadsheets for system design calculations
Provide services using other software including FireCad and/or AutoCAD, EASE Sound Modeling software and others.
Provide evaluation of existing system to determine functionality and upgrade paths
Documenting and diagraming technical details, report summaries and other business correspondence using Visio, Bluebeam, and Office 365 products.
Create application guides and white papers
Approximate maximum of 30% travel on an annual basis
Basic Qualifications
High School or Diploma or GED
5 years of experience in life safety/fire design, servicing equipment, or project management
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree.
10 years of experience in design, service or project management with focus a on technical aspects of the life safety industry including fire alarm systems, air sampling systems and smoke control systems. Other low voltage system experience may be suitable, depending on the evaluation of skills
Understanding of basic IT networking concepts
Strong technical background in relevant fields (e.g. fire alarm ,computer science, networking)
Skilled in using electrical testing equipment (e.g. volt/ohm/amp meters, intelligibility test meters)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to understand and translate customer requirements into technical solutions
Experience with product demonstrations and technical documentation
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively with sales and engineering teams.
Certificate in Network Infrastructure, Network Security, or Server Administration (e.g. Cisco, COMPTIA, certificate program from accredited community college or technical school, or equivalent)
Five years of hands-on experience with Edwards or Kidde products
Factory training certification on Edwards or Kidde software offerings
NICET Level III or higher certification in the subfield of Fire Alarm Systems
