Title: SCCM / Active Directory Engineer
Location: Must be local to Columbus, OH area
GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a SCCM/Active Directory Engineer based in the Columbus Metro area. This hybrid role requires 2-3 days onsite per week.
Position Overview
As a SCCM/Active Directory Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and securing the organization's infrastructure by overseeing the System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Active Directory (AD), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and related systems. Your expertise will be pivotal in the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical systems, ensuring high availability and security.
Responsibilities
- SCCM Management: Develop, package, and deploy software updates, patches, applications, and operating system images across all organizational endpoints. Ensure smooth system configurations, software installations, and overall system health by monitoring and troubleshooting SCCM deployment and client management issues.
- Endpoint Security: Implement security policies within SCCM to manage endpoint configurations, compliance, and health.
- Active Directory Management: Design, implement, and maintain Active Directory infrastructure, including user accounts, group policies, access controls, and directory services.
- Directory Services Health: Monitor Active Directory performance, generate reports on usage, and ensure security compliance across the network.
- Public Key Infrastructure (PKI): Design and manage the PKI system, including certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, and overall lifecycle management. Oversee secure key generation, certificate distribution to users and devices, and conduct security assessments.
- MFA Deployment: Lead the deployment of certificate-based Windows Hello for Business Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in a hybrid environment.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve issues related to user login, directory synchronization, authentication errors, and SCCM client health across the network.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure clear communication and process adherence.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Preferred 4-year college degree.
- Experience: 10 years of relevant experience in SCCM, Active Directory, PKI, and system administration.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong hands-on experience with SCCM for software updates, patching, and client management.
- Expertise in Active Directory administration, group policies, user accounts, and directory services.
- Proficient in managing and maintaining a PKI system, including certificate lifecycle management.
- Experience with Windows Hello for Business and MFA deployment in hybrid environments.
- Solid scripting skills using PowerShell to automate tasks and enhance system management.
Preferred Experience
- Technologies:
- Experience with MFA solutions (e.g., DUO, Windows Hello for Business).
- Proficient in SQL Reporting, GPO, and DB management.
- In-depth experience with certificate deployment and troubleshooting.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Good communication skills for documenting processes and resolving technical issues.
