What You'll Do:
- Provide therapeutic counseling consistent with Chaddock’s Treatment Model to students, parents, and teachers on educational and mental health issues in relation to the academic environment and in accordance to the student’s Individual Education Plan.
- Administer academic and behavioral assessments as needed.
- Communicate and collaborate with children, families, and school/agency personnel to develop and implement interventions and strategies consistent with Chaddock’s Treatment Model.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide crisis interventions.
- Provide academic counseling and schedule students in appropriate courses by checking student’s transcripts for correct course placement. Maintain accuracy to ensure that state and district requirements are fulfilled.
- Supervise the documentation and maintenance of student records including report cards, transcripts, graduation requirements, and counseling minutes.
- Participate in Individual Education Plans, Core Treatment Teams meetings, and meetings to assist teachers, support staff, parents, and others involved in the learning process.
- Observe and interact within the classroom setting to assist teachers and support staff.
- Chaddock reserves the right to revise or change job duties and responsibilities from particular jobs and to assign other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need (Education/Experience):
- Master’s degree in in social work or counseling is required.
- Current State of Illinois License: LSW, LPC, LCSW, or LCPC preferred.
- Two years of experience and/or training in the school environment is preferred.
- Strong communication and organization skills
Additional Requirements
- Must be 21 years or older
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Be an American citizen or have a valid work permit
- Pass a drug screen, medical examination and tuberculosis (TB) test
- Pass a criminal background check
