What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at CHADRON COMMUNITY HOSPITAL?
Full-time, 30-40 hours/week and be on a rotating call schedule. Benefited position after 60-day waiting period.
Summary:
To provide daily support for the plant operations department through direct supervision, and assistance to all employees. Responsible for general repair and preventative maintenance of equipment. Responsible for supervision and training of assigned areas. Reviews, schedules, and assigns work requests for repairs and maintenance. Requires responsible experience in general maintenance involving electricity, plumbing, heating, and mechanical principles as well as other Support Services.
Job Duties:
- The duties of the Supervisor of Plant Operations are diverse and may include, but are not limited to having a role in:
- Planning and coordination of hospital fire drills.
- Direct and coordinate activities of the hospital energy management systems and insure the upkeep and maintenance of them.
- Coordinate and assist with the contract equipment maintenance programs.
- Coordinate and assist with all departments as needed with repair and maintenance programs.
- Coordinate and assist with construction project planning and requirements.
- Take call as needed in a prompt and responsive manner.
- Maintenance knowledge required.
- General plumbing and tools required.
- General construction; painting, wall repair, limited electrical.
- Knowledge of operation and maintenance of the boilers and roof top units in the hospital.
- Maintain, and instill in the rest of the department, a high quality of work with cost awareness.
- Be able to make quick and intelligent decisions using good judgement.
- Be able to make plans according to priorities, delegate duties, and follow up to insure quality and expedience.
- Maintain a good attitude, appearance, and a respect of others. Confidentiality a must.
- Must work well with others, keep an open mind, and be creative.
- Duties require ability to lift heavy objects at times and requires the training and knowledge to lift properly to prevent injuries to self and others
- Reports directly to Plant Manager.
- Supervises maintenance workers and groundskeepers.
- Follows and complies with all safety policies and health regulations specified by Hospital Administration, federal, state, or local rules.
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, reach, pull, push, walk, stand, bend, and use arms and hands constantly and run heavy equipment.
- Must have a valid Nebraska driver's license with no restrictions and clean driving record.
