Full-time, 30-40 hours/week. Monday-Friday, rotating call schedule that will include weekends. Benefited position after 60-day waiting period.
Summary:
To provide daily maintenance support for the Plant Operations Department. This will be done through direct and non-direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Manager.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate all maintenance activities through the Maintenance Supervisor and those departments that maintenance is being performed in.
- Ability to perform certain maintenance duties without assistance from the Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Manager.
- Confidentiality is performed in all situations when working on grounds or off grounds.
- Knowledge of snow removal equipment and machinery in removing snow in a safe manner consisting of no harm to self, others, and the equipment.
- Ability to perform scheduled preventative maintenance and the corresponding documentation.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills.
- Take calls as needed in a prompt responsive matter.
- Repair walls and paint as needed.
- Moderate knowledge of plumbing and the tools required.
- Knowledge of basic electrical work and where the various breaker boxes are located throughout the building.
- Knowledge of safety during repairs and what to do if accidents should occur and who to inform.
- Knowledge in handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
- Removal of trash and wearing gloves when doing so.
- Willingness to help other staff in the various departments.
- Buildings and grounds kept neat and clean.
- Knowledge of mowing the lawn and the operation of the equipment used.
- Completing the job and tasks assigned to do.
- Service and provide maintenance duties to the out buildings the hospital owns.
- Assist in fire drills and able to give directions where to go in case of an actual fire.
- Knowledge on operations and maintaining boilers and roof top units.
- Assist in remodeling of all areas of the hospital.
- Maintenance duties do require of lifting of heavy objects at times and requires the proper training and courses of how to lift to prevent injuries to self and others.
- Always follow hospital regulations and policies.
- Adheres to dress code.
- Completes mandatory in-services requirements.
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled, completes work within designated time.
- Wear identification while on duty.
- Ability to be cross-trained into other areas of support services.
Qualifications:
- Ability to follow and understand verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds, reach, pull, push, walk, stand, bend, and use arms and hands constantly and run heavy equipment.
- Must have a valid Nebraska driver's license with no restrictions and clean driving record.
