Municipal Project Manager
CVE seeks a highly motivated full-time Municipal Project Manager to join our diverse team of professionals.
The Municipal Project Manager will have the opportunity to work on a variety of project tasks including preliminary and detailed roadway design, sanitary sewer studies and design, water main design, stormwater and drainage studies and design, and various other municipal engineering projects. The Project Manager will also work alongside other Senior Engineers and will be responsible for mentoring less experienced Engineers. The new hire will also directly interface with municipal clients, including positions such as Service Director, Finance Director, Building Commissioner and elected officials. The new hire should have the willingness to take on title of City Engineer for a municipal client.
Requested Degree/Certifications/Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Ohio Professional Engineering License.
Eight (8) years of experience, either within a local engineering department or a consultant serving municipal clients.
Ability to work independently and on a project team.
Capability to effectively manage project tasks.
Strong written and oral communications skills required.
Exercise professional judgment to complete work accurately and in accordance with industry standards, ethical standards, and sound business practices.
Effectively communicate and coordinate with other team members.
Manage, coordinate, and communicate schedule and progress on multiple concurrent tasks; complete work on time and within budget.
Be energetic, self-directed, and success-focused.
Valid Ohio Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee municipal engineering designs that are responsive to project needs including the production of construction plans, quantities, cost estimates, and technical specifications (bid documents) for roadways and/or related infrastructure.
Provide technical expertise on projects associated with preliminary engineering, detailed engineering design, and preparation of construction documents.
Write technical memos and reports and create presentations of findings that can be presented to a diverse group of clients and the public.
Develop technical and functional capabilities of less experienced project engineers.
Coordinate with contractors and provide project administration, pay estimate reviews, scheduling, and support during construction process.
Attendance at public meetings required.
