Survey Field Technician
CVE seeks a highly motivated Survey Field Technician to work on our Survey Field Crew.
The Survey Field Technician will work alongside a Survey Crew Chief in the documentation of topographic, utility, and property information. They will also work on a variety of field tasks to support the development of existing conditions base mapping in support of municipal, transportation, and surveying designs and deliverables.
Requested Degree/Certifications/Skills
High School diploma.
Experience is a plus but not required as training will be provided.
A focus on safe work habits.
Available for limited travel with a project team.
Valid Ohio Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
Punctuality, a strong work ethic and a positive attitude are required.
Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
Must be willing to work outdoors despite weather conditions 12 months out of the year.
Must be comfortable working in all environments (i.e. urban, roadway, rural, etc).
General experience with common hand tools (i.e measuring tape, hammer, etc.).
Job Responsibilities
Accompany Survey Crew Chief in the field to provide support in obtaining field measurements using various survey equipment.
Carry and set up survey equipment.
Open manhole lids and obtain inside measurements.
Perform work in a safe manner while wearing appropriate gear.
Must be willing to travel a minimum of 15 business days within a year.
Maintain an awareness of surroundings, including adjacency to traffic.
