Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Transportation Director with extensive experience in managing logistics for restaurant chain deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of management experience in transportation, specifically in supporting multi-location restaurant clients. This role requires strong knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations to maintain safe, compliant, and efficient operations across our expanding service area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all transportation operations, ensuring on-time and efficient deliveries to restaurant chain locations across multiple states.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize route planning, reduce costs, and enhance delivery reliability.
- Lead and mentor a team of drivers and transportation supervisors to ensure high performance and compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to DOT rules, regulations, and laws, maintaining compliance across all fleet operations.
- Collaborate closely with warehouse and customer service teams to maintain strong service levels and promptly resolve delivery issues.
- Manage transportation budgets, track expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives in fleet and delivery operations.
Qualifications:
- 10 years of management experience in transportation, specifically in restaurant chain delivery logistics.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT rules and regulations, with a proven track record of maintaining compliance.
- Proven experience managing large fleets and multi-state operations.
