The Commercial Legal team at Chainalysis advises both internal and external stakeholders on the forefront of cryptocurrency and blockchain data analytics and is a critical stakeholder in helping drive revenue across the business. Our job is to ensure the company continues its rapid growth by employing sound and risk appropriate judgment to support the Go-to-Market Team and other functions with commercial contract negotiations and wider commercialization and revenue generating activities.As Senior Commercial Counsel, you will be integral in scaling out the global, commercial legal function at Chainalysis and driving smart revenue for the company.In this role, you’ll : Create, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of data services and SaaS commercial agreements, for both private and public sector customers globallyDevelop a strong rapport and work in collaboration with our go-to-market, operations, marketing, infosec, engineering and product teams in connection with our transactional goalsWork through data privacy (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and security issues in complex commercial transactionsPrioritize internal client and external customer satisfaction, while promoting scalable processes and proceduresGain a solid understanding of Chainalysis’ risk appetite and provide commercially astute, risk-appropriate decisions on commercial transactions and on the launch of new products and servicesBuild an A to Z understanding of our sales process and become a trusted business partner to senior sales leadership and other internal stakeholdersBecome an expert in Chainalysis’ contracting model and a trusted leader in managing quarterly sales cyclesDevelop a strong understanding of Chainalysis’ products, services and business modelProvide commercial guidance outside of the legal realm in furtherance of the company’s objectivesWe’re looking for candidates who have : Excellent critical-thinking skills and judgmentA Juris Doctorate and solid in-house or top-tier law firm experience in data services and SaaS licensing within the technology industry; experience negotiating with public sector and / or financial institutions strongly preferredExperience supporting a global sales team (and understanding of the sales process) at a B2B, rapid growth technology companyExperience with, or solid understanding of, GDPR and CCPA in a transactional setting and a demonstrated history of reviewing DPAs, as well as providing guidance on complex compliance and information security issuesAn independent, patient, and thoughtful demeanor while being adept at managing shifting priorities in a demanding, fast-paced environmentJudgment to know when and how to escalate issuesWillingness to occasionally support sales teams across the globe outside of local business hoursNice to have experience : Government contracting experience (whether direct or through reseller / framework arrangements)Familiarity with or an interest in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industryThis position is ineligible for visa sponsorship.About ChainalysisBlockchain technology is powering a growing wave of innovation.
