Job Title: PRODUCT SPECIALIST
Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Specialist to join our team. The Product Specialist will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of our product portfolio, from concept to obsolescence. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality products that meet customer needs and market demands. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000/plus annual target incentive
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Product Management:
- Complete all product maintenance functions, including updating drawings, specs, as well as technical manuals
- Ensure the flow of information between the various departments and companies regarding relevant product changes, updates, innovations, and obsolescence
- Work with department lead to transition from old to new products via a change management process
- Work with Sales and Marketing to streamline the existing product portfolio and the development of new product portfolios
- Technical training of employees and presentation in the participating companies
- Product Testing:
- Utilize a structured and uniform process for ensuring relevant product certifications are well understood and obtained prior to product launch
- Compare proposed products, innovations, and changes to ensure market relevance, high customer satisfaction, product defects are detected before launch and eliminated to prevent high costs and prolonged product launch time
- Project Evaluation Product development:
- Economic evaluation of the project request / idea to carry out market-oriented developments.
- Conduct market research in the run-up to portfolio optimization, expansion, and innovation within specific product areas
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Required:
- 5 years of product management experience in the electrical product manufacturing industry
- Data management/Data governance
- Technical data preparation in the PIM system
- Very good MS Office skills and knowledge in product/project management tools
- Proven track record of managing the complete product lifecycle.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Familiarity with CAD and other design software is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and vendors.
- Preferred:
- Specific experience in cable management systems a major plus
