After School Enrichment Teacher

Challenge Island of Greater Seattle and the Eastside is hiring fun, smart, enthusiastic candidates to teach enrichment classes to students K-7! You belong in our family if you

• believe that overuse of digital devices is negatively impacting creativity, communication skills, focus and the executive functions among our kids
• are passionate about project and play based learning
• have superior class room management skills
• are a former teacher OR pursuing a degree in education OR a current teacher seeking to supplement income

Challenge Island will train qualified instructors in our unique program and teaching philosophy. All supplies and detailed lesson plans are provided.

Classes are held at local elementary schools, and community centers.

Challenge Island teaching positions are highly selective position but if you do become a part of our team the intrinsic rewards are enormous!

This is a part-time position 2 to 5 hours per week

Other requirements:

• Be passionate, patient and deeply care about educating children
• Have reliable transportation
• Live within 10 miles of the following areas: Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Bothell, Sammamish, Issaquah
• Complete Criminal Background Check and application
• Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and requirements. The Lead Teacher may be required to perform additional duties as needed to support the children

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 5 per week

• Do you have any experience in classroom management or in managing groups of elementary aged children in a work or volunteer context?
• Instructors are need to work in one hour classes held between the hours of 2p-5pm in various school districts on the Eastside and in Seattle. Are you available to work in at least 2 locations on at least 2 days per week?
