Who We Want:
The Assistant Controller position is responsible for the assisting the Corporate Controller in leading the accounting, operations and treasury management of the Company, to include the production of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, maintenance of an adequate system of financial records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate corporate risk, as well as improve the Company's financial communications.
What You'll Do:
- Assist in maintain and enforce a monitoring and managing the organization liquidity management and assist with monthly and quarterly bank reporting
- Forecasting of medium and long-term funding requirements
- Analyzing various scenarios and risks and reporting to senior management
- Supporting the month end process where necessary
- Review monthly financial reporting information disseminated to lenders
- Performing monthly analysis of budget vs. actual analysis for plants and corporate departments
- Coordinate the preparation of a comprehensive internal reporting packages to evaluate key performance metrics across the Company
- Assist in the review, preparation, and monitoring of the annual corporate budgets, including operations and capital expenditures
- Preparing management and board reports
- Actively engage in recurring projects, such as annual third-party ESOP valuation, annual bank fixed asset appraisals, annual insurance audits, and semi-annual bank audits etc.
- Provide on-going monitoring of corporate cash balances to ensure efficient use of Company capital
- Supporting the Company's key monitoring of customer and supplier risk
- Perform and evaluate cost benefit analyses, including plant continuous improvement projects
- Continuous improvement projects of enhancing corporate controls and monitoring processes
When and Where:
This will be a 1st Shift M-F position located at our Corporate Office in Walker, MI.
Occasionally, this may require you to arrive early, stay late, or work on weekends, outside of our regular hours, to ensure we successfully meet customer needs, deadlines, or urgent requests.
What You Need to Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 5 years of accounting intensive experience
- Public and private accounting experience.
- CPA license is preferred.
- Automotive experience is a plus
- Has high standards of performance for self.
