This will be a X Shift / 6:00PM-6:00AM M-Th position located at our Plant in Kansas City, MO.

What You'll Do
- Analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges and machinists’ hand tools.
- Performs all duties to ensure department and plant meet daily and weekly production requirements.
- Train and mentor Tool & Die Maker Apprentices when needed
- References production orders in PLEX to weld product per Job Element Sheet (JES).
- Observes and complies with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements associated with this job description.
- Complete repairs on dies in the press
- Select metals to be used from a range of metals and alloys, based on properties such as hardness and heat tolerance.
- Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machines and hand tools.
- Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools using scrapers, emery cloths or power grinders.
- Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indicators.
- Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts
- Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.

What You Need To Have
- Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.
- High school diploma or general education degree
- 4 years’ experience with approved trade school or equivalent experience
- Must have 10 years’ experience as a Tool & Die Maker
- Active Journeyman card required
- Must be able to pass and maintain necessary Lock Out/Tag Out testing, Forklift Certification, and Crane Testing.
