What You Will Be Accountable For
- Edit and update XML-based technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Interpret engineering instructions and incorporate them into technical manuals and operational guides.
- Manage personal workload effectively, meeting deadlines in a structured, high-volume publishing environment.
- Develop and maintain technical manuals, wireframe documentation, and operations guides to support engineering and maintenance teams.
- Work within a technical library, ensuring all documentation is up to date and structured correctly.
- Assist with OAM (Operations and Maintenance) revisions and reconciliations, aligning with regulatory and manufacturer guidelines.
- Utilize XML authoring tools to structure and format technical content, integrating illustrations, figures, and hyperlinks.
- Support an aggressive project timeline, ensuring documentation is delivered efficiently for system implementation.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to ensure technical accuracy and clarity.
- Follow style guides and industry standards to maintain consistency in technical writing and aviation documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in technical writing, technical editing, or publication production, preferably in aviation, military, or aerospace industries.
- Familiarity with editing XML content and structuring documents using industry best practices.
- Experience interpreting engineering instructions and translating them into clear, concise documentation.
- Strong personal workload management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with IPC (Illustrated Parts Catalogs) and OAM (Operations and Maintenance) documentation.
- Proficiency in XML authoring and familiarity with industry documentation structures.
- Ability to work with engineering changes, ensuring documentation remains accurate and compliant.
- Experience working within Boeing or Airbus technical manuals.
- Boeing Toolbox authoring familiarity.
- Knowledge of aviation industry standards such as ATA2200 and S1000D.
