Job Description
High School Graduate/GED, Four-year college degree preferred
- Serve as the Safety Team Leader for the local market
- Actively involved in the management process for local Safety Team (FleetIQ, Predictive Solutions, etc)
- Mentor, Coach and grow junior members of the Safety Dept.
- Maintain professionalism in appearance and conduct
- Assist Management as needed (reporting, assignments, etc.)
- Conduct site safety inspections and participate in jobsite huddles to ensure JHAs are completed properly and safety is properly addressed
- Help design and implement plans to ensure safety program expectations are met: JHA completion, timely training certifications, etc.
- Identify OSHA compliance and deficiencies
- Assist in the development of site-specific safety plans
- Conduct safety meetings and training to support Company operations (CPR/CERTA, Bosun Chair, etc.)
- Assist with New Hire Safety Training
- Review and audit completed Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Coordinate and assist managing Incident response and reporting with Field Operations Leadership
- Work with customer’s personnel to ensure Chamberlin’s compliance with site specific safety requirements
- Attend and participate in meetings with membership organizations of the industry
- Coordinate with other members of Safety Dept. to accomplish task in a timely manner
- Recommends and administers promotional and disciplinary action (when necessary)
- Other responsibilities as assigned
- Possess all Safety Coordinator II skills and requirements
- At least 5 years of safety experience and a proven ability to lead and set the right example
- OSHA 500 certification & Certified Safety & Health Official (CSHO) certification for Construction
- Complete Continuing Education relevant to position and company’s interest
- Fluent bilingual - able to read, write and speak publicly (Spanish and English)
- Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
- Able to work independently and in a team atmosphere, including the training and development of others
- Must have good organization skills, problem solving skills and be self-motivated
- Must be familiar and proficient with computers and other electronic devices (iPads, etc.)
- Able to follow directions and guidance from Safety Dept. management
- Able to take on multiple assignments and see to completion with minimal guidance
- Capable of anticipating foreseeable issues and addressing before they manifest
- Collaborate with leadership of other departments to achieve overall success for company
