Chaminade High School seeks a full-time Mandarin Chinese Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
About Chaminade High School:
Chaminade High School has been a pillar of the Long Island community since its establishment in 1930. Owned and operated by the Society of Mary, the Marianists, the school honors its namesake, Blessed William Joseph Chaminade, who founded the order while evangelizing in post-revolutionary France.
Our 1,700 young men engage in a rigorous liberal arts curriculum within a Christian community dedicated to the education of the heart. The program includes four years of English, Mathematics, Religion, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education; three years of World Language and Fine Arts; and one year of Health. Chaminade graduates are exceptionally well-prepared for the most demanding college programs, with 100% of graduates advancing to higher education institutions, including colleges, universities, prep schools, and service academies.

Position: Mandarin Chinese Teacher
The World Language Department at Chaminade High School is committed to providing students with a deep understanding of the Chinese language and culture through engaging and rigorous instruction. This position involves teaching multiple levels of Mandarin Chinese (introductory to advanced) and overseeing the development and growth of the Chinese program. The teacher will ensure that students receive a high-quality language education that emphasizes fluency, cultural competency, and real-world application. In addition to teaching responsibilities, Chaminade faculty members coordinate a robust after-school program of extracurricular and co-curricular clubs and activities.

Required Qualifications:
NYS Certification in Chinese (7–12)
Relevant Master’s Degree (completed or in progress)
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and deep knowledge of Chinese culture
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience
Experience in designing and implementing a world language curriculum
Experience with language immersion and student-centered learning strategies
Experience in organizing cultural events or international exchange programs
Compensation:
Salary Estimate: $64,000-125,000.
