What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Sales Manager position at Chamonix Casino Hotel?
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Organize and support the weekly calendar for sales activities, including meetings, solicitation calls (inside and outside), and site inspections. Submit the calendar to the Director of Sales (DOS) every Friday.
2. Assist in planning and preparing for both on-site and off-site special events, as directed by the Director of Sales.
3. Collaborate with the Sales Coordinator to prepare for trade shows, wedding expos, and other promotional events.
4. Prepare and maintain weekly booking reports to ensure the accurate tracking of sales activity.
5. Work closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure smooth coordination for group arrivals, including room and service preparations.
6. Prepare detailed group resumes outlining room assignments and food & beverage requirements, ensuring additional information (e.g., wedding receptions or large events) is provided and distributed as needed.
7. Schedule and conduct detailing appointments with upcoming groups to prepare banquet event orders at least three weeks prior to the event.
8. Consistently demonstrate exceptional internal and external customer service, maintaining a professional and welcoming demeanor at all times.
9. Greet and communicate with all clients and group members in a friendly, courteous, and empathetic manner, ensuring a positive experience.
10. Complete other tasks as assigned in a timely and professional manner.
11. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety procedures and using safety equipment when necessary.
12. Attend weekly Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings and operations stand-ups to ensure proper coordination across departments.
13. Conduct group resume meetings with department heads and clients at least 10 days before group arrivals to ensure alignment on event details.
14. Greet all clients upon arrival, prepare VIP room amenities, and extend a warm welcome to ensure a memorable stay.
15. Schedule follow-up meetings after conferences or events to gather feedback and discuss potential for future business or rebooking.
16. Send a personalized “thank you for your business” note after each group's departure, reinforcing positive relationships.
17. Maintain up-to-date customer profiles, including birthdays and special preferences, to foster long-term client engagement and satisfaction.
18. Perform duties in compliance with safety procedures, including the proper use of safety equipment, and report any unsafe conditions or practices to management or the Safety Committee.
19. Ensure all responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, Internal Control Minimum Procedures, internal policies, Colorado gaming regulations, and all applicable federal and state regulations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- 1-3 years of relevant sales experience in the hospitality or casino industry.
- Proficiency with Google applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills, the ability to meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Gaming License
- Valid Driver’s License required.
Work Schedule:
Onsite work schedule is required for 40 hours a week.
Compensation & Benefits:
$56,485 annually. In addition to the base salary, a commission structure based on KPI's will be applicable to this position.
