ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Supervises and manages Home Cafe operations.
- Acts as a backup to Home Cafe staff, acting as a bus person, host / hostess, wait person, dishwasher, cook, and prep cook when needed.
- Ensures quality services to guests and employees. Develops, maintains, and enhances positive relations with all guests and employees.
- Assists in supervision of restaurant programs for compliance with safety and employment laws, and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.
- Manages and develops an effective staff by assisting and making recommendations in hiring, training, scheduling, rewarding and disciplining staff. Conducts performance reviews. Supervises and develops staff to meet and exceed performance expectations by establishing and maintaining positive work morale and effective employee relations.
- Monitors that all assigned employees have reported to work, and makes schedule adjustments for proper coverage.
- Assures that the Home Cafe is ready for business. Includes ensuring computers are working properly, the wait station is prepared, food is properly stored and of standard quality, TV on proper channel, prep kitchen, etc.
- Ensures all employees wear and maintain all uniforms properly, including nametags. Supervisor must wear a gaming license if in possession of one.
- Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.
- Ensures that all employees are informed of company and department policies and procedures.
- Ensures that employee timecards are reviewed and authorized as required for payroll processing.
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings and provides clarification and guidance regarding various restaurant issues, goals, and objectives. Makes professional contacts with other companies and industry professionals regarding restaurant issues.
- Assists to anticipate, reduce, or eliminate complaints from guests.
- Assists, as directed, with monthly inventory reconciliation of all restaurants and prepares all necessary paperwork.
- Alerts supervisor of any concerns regarding the quality, selection, and variety of all food and beverages.
- Follows established security protocols to ensure that the restaurant work environment is safe.
- Maintains alertness for performance of all responsibilities, and a general awareness of restaurant operations at all times and customer satisfaction. Keeps the supervisor informed of any concerns.
- Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Demonstrated hospitality or restaurant management experience, preferably within a gaming environment. Demonstrated experience dealing with employees in restaurant operations. Demonstrated experience in managing employees. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE : Three (3) or more years of recent and related hospitality or restaurant experience, including two (2) years of supervisory experience, preferably within a gaming environment.
OTHER SKILLS / ABILITIES : Demonstrated knowledge of various laws related to safety, workers compensation, employment, and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act. Excellent customer service skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Essential duties involve performing physical exertion : frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs, bending, stretching, reaching, pushing, kneeling, squatting, crouching, stooping, and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties may involve working in a small, confined area with floors that may become slippery in the process of preparing food and drink. Essential duties require lifting trays, plates, pots, pans, and other cooking utensils containing food, and lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store or move kitchen, restaurant or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve sitting while completing paperwork or using a computer, and a flexible workweek with additional hours occasionally required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS :
20.00 per hour based on experience
