Starting Pay: Grade 4: $19.02 - $27.55; starting pay at base of range
Hours: Work hours are based on operational needs but typically will be during regular business hours (Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm) unless otherwise scheduled. Some evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
Position Summary
The Grants & Sponsorships Coordinator provides administrative support for the grant activities of the district.
Supervisory Relationships
This position reports to the Business & Finance Director. This position does not supervise other staff.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Ensure grant policies and procedures are being adhered to.
- Submit reimbursement requests to grantors. This will include preparation of some materials such as financial reports, and coordination with other areas for performance reports or other required information.
- Prepare financial reports required by the grantor.
- Collect information from various areas within the Preserves to submit to the grantor when required.
- Calculate interest earned on cash advances from grantors
- Submit grant applications on behalf of the district.
- Prepare required memos for Board approval related to grants.
- Set up grants in the financial system (Tyler ERP Pro 10)
Secondary Functions
- Serve as backup to the Donor Relationship Coordinator for recording gifts in the gift system and sending out thank you notices. May also help in this regard during peak giving seasons.
- Identify potential grant opportunities and communicate with staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Associate degree required. College or university coursework in business administration, accounting, finance, or closely related field is preferred.
- Two years of previous work experience performing financial duties required.
- A strong level of computer literacy is required, including Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Fiscal integrity and confidentiality in handling financial and other sensitive transactions.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships throughout the Forest Preserves.
- Ability to complete work accurately with close attention to detail.
