Job Title: Welcome Center Staff
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. The Welcome Center Staff responds to member and guest needs and promotes memberships and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y
- Conducts tours responsive to the needs of prospective members
- Provide information on facility services and programs
- Enroll members and program participants.
- Keep welcome center area neat and clean
- Answer telephones using assigned greeting
- Actively builds relationships and connections with and among members by using members’ names, engaging members in conversation while actively listening and checking on members’ progress.
- Keep an accurate account of all monies received; receive payments and record them correctly.
- Assist in opening and closing procedures, when appropriate.
- Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Attend staff meetings
- Be on time for all scheduled shifts, and get shifts covered that you are not able to fulfill. Be available and willing to substitute for fellow employees
- Be alert to safety factors and potential hazards
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to respond to emergency situations.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 20 pounds
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $11.50 per hour
Work Location: In person
