SUMMARY
The Pickleball Instructor is responsible for teaching and instructing pickleball lessons to children and adults. The Pickleball Instructor is responsible for performing the essential functions as outlined in the description.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in teaching many levels of pickleball
- The ability to effectively communicate with the public and staff
- Positive “CAN-DO” team attitude
SUPERVISION
The Pickleball Instructor reports directly to the Sports Coordinator.
TRAINING – CAN BE OBTAINED BY THROUGH THE CHAMPAING PARK DISTRICT
- Bloodborne Pathogen training
- CPR, First Aid, and AED training and certification
- Concussion training
- Mandated reporter training and certification training
- Harassment prevention training
- Facility training
CLASSIFICAITON
- Non-exempt, hourly
- Part-time
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow all Champaign Park District safety policies and perform all work in a manner that ensures the safety of the public, fellow employees, and themselves
- Keep daily pickleball lesson attendance records
- Teach lessons to children and adults
- In order to maintain a high level of service, the Pickleball Instructors are encouraged to continue to develop themselves professionally.
- Training sessions and staff meetings are mandatory and are an important part of the job.
- Check all equipment and supplies and report any repairs or replacement needs to the Sports Coordinator
- Maintain open and frequent communication with the Sports Coordinator
- Enforce Champaign Park District policies and procedures
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Promote programs and lessons
- Other assigned duties
Marginal Functions
- Responsible for assisting other pickleball staff and programs as needed
PSYCHOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS
- Pickleball instructors/professionals must be able to respond to problem situations in a professional and mature manner within the policies and procedures of the Champaign Park District
PHYSIOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS
- Must be able to maintain rigorous lesson schedules during peak seasons
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
- Must be able work in hot and sunny conditions when lessons are scheduled on outside courts
COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS
- Must be able to understand from oral and written communication
- Must be able to problem solve
- Should be able to exercise creativity and resourcefulness
- Should be safety conscious at all times
Qualifications
Salary : $17 - $30
