What are the responsibilities and job description for the Multilingual Learner Teacher/Literacy Program; up to 6 positions available (based upon student enrollment) position at Champaign Unit 4 School District?

- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with ESL or Bilingual Endorsement
- A strong background in teaching early literacy to MLL students with low language proficiencies is strongly recommended.
- This position will remain posted until the hiring process is complete; however, interviews may be conducted after February 27, 2025, so interested applicants should submit their materials ASAP to ensure consideration.
- This position is for the District’s MLL Newcomer Summer School Program, which will be located at International Prep Academy.
- MLL teachers will work with MLL students to build their language skills in English through cooperative learning and hands-on experience.
- This program runs Monday-Thursday from June 9, 2025 - July 10, 2025. Exception: There will be no summer school on Thursday, June 19, 2025.
- Student contact hours will be from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
- Staff will be expected to be on duty (and will be paid) from 7:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m.
- There will also be an initial required training (paid) June 2-June 5, 2025 from 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
- Teachers will be paid at the rate of $35.00/hour.
