Intake Specialist

The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) is seeking a full-time (35-hour week) Intake Specialist for the Maternal Child & Health Division. 

Duties and Responsibilities include: 

•    Verifying program eligibility and functioning in clinic flow by initiating client visits. 
•    Scheduling and rescheduling appointments 
•    Complying with HIPPA during all inquiries and interactions 
•    Following state policies and procedures as laid out by WIC and USDA guidelines 
•    Completing and updating data entry 
•    Assisting with offsite programs, health fairs, or related activities 
•    Must be able to respond to public health emergencies when needed; during an emergency response, being assigned to a role or duty outside of normal position 
•    Performing other duties as assigned 

Requirements and Qualifications: 

•    High school diploma, or GED equivalent, 
•    One (1) year of office experience in a public service environment 
•    Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with diverse clientele and staff 
•    Must have excellent phone etiquette, customer service, data entry, organizational, and communication skills 
•    Individuals with Medicaid billing is highly desirable 
•    Bilingual Spanish/French preferred. CUPHD offers qualified bilingual employees’ additional compensation once approved

The starting annual salary for this position is $29,823 (16.39 per hour) for a 35-hour week.
