Job Summary
The Front Desk Agent serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors .This role is essential for ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while efficiently managing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of dental terminology, insurance verification, and managing dental records.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Schedule appointments and manage the front desk calendar to optimize patient flow.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance claims processing.
- Verifying the patient’s dental and health insurance benefits.
- Explaining insurance benefits to patients.
- Entering data using dental practice management software.
- Generating reports for all activities.
- Posting payments made by patients.
- Following up on non-paid insurance claims.
- Managing late payments and overdue accounts.
- Processing insurance payments and refunds.
- Uploading completed insurance verification forms.
- Monitoring weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to confirm payment from clients and insurance companies.
- Maintain accurate dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members.
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Collaborate with dental providers to ensure smooth operations within the office.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
Skills
- Proficient in dental terminology and understanding of dental office procedures.
- Experience with coding practices and familiarity with managed care processes.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing dental records.
