An Insurance Administrative Assistant includes administrative tasks for an Insurance office, such as:
- Customer service: Answering phone calls, responding to emails, and directing inquiries to the appropriate department
- Scheduling: Scheduling appointments, events, and travel arrangements
- Filing: Filing documents and paperwork
- Data entry: Performing data entry tasks
- Office operations: Managing the schedules of agents and other office personnel, drafting emails, and distributing mail
- Database management: Updating the client database regularly to ensure current customer information is available
- Office expenses: Keeping track of office expenses and performing basic bookkeeping duties
- Office supplies: Ordering office supplies as needed
- Maintenance: Scheduling maintenance for office equipment repairs, if needed
- Certificates of insurance: Preparing, printing, and sending certificates of insurance to customers
- Policy information: Providing additional information about policies as needed
Administrative Assistants need to be critical readers, capable of understanding and adhering to complex internal policies, industry standards, and governmental regulations. They also need to possess basic budgeting and computation skills.
