We are seeking an Engineering Manager to work at our facility in Ocala, Florida. This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
Ideal candidates must be motivated to work in a team-orientated-fast-paced environment. This position requires individuals to perform duties in a medical manufacturing environment following strict quality and safety standards. Candidates must be willing to get involved with all aspects of your job, including routine, practical, or more junior work. You must enjoy dealing with people directly.
Position: Management of the engineering department at the manufacturing, sustaining and NPI level. Responsible for internal team and engineering support vendors.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
· Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Job Responsibilities
- Strong understanding of Manufacturing Engineering.
- Understanding of Sustaining Engineering including product life cycle management.
- Understanding NPI (New Production Development).
- Support ongoing manufacturing activities including process development and improvements.
- Collaborates with other manufacturing managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
- Assesses cost effectiveness and feasibility of manufacturing processes; makes and implements recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Development automation to replace manual process.
- Assists the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other appropriate leadership with programs, activities, and responsibilities of the maintenance department.
- Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Prepares and implements the departmental budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Familiar with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Tools.
- Manage of resources and priorities for Engineering Project Planning.
Competencies
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Familiar with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing Tools.
· Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare budgets and records.
· Knowledge of ISO 1345:2016 and 21CFR820 or experience in a similar regulated environment.
· Lean Manufacturing experience is preferred.
· Curious.
· Self-driven.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience to manufacturing engineering field, required.
· At least five years of supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
