Driver/Shipping and Receiving

Summary
Diving Non-CDL trucks into NYC as needed.

Responsible for accurate receiving, storing, preparing and shipping orders. Helping other departments as needed in shop.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Driving non-CDL trucks into and out of NYC limits and across Long Island
Inbound Freight:

· Count all products, compare to manifest-PO and check all shipments for damage.

· Report shortages, damages and accuracy issues

· Sign for inbound shipments when necessary

· Drive a forklift, unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations

· Storage: Maximize space usage and safely put away material

Outbound Freight:

· Load our trucks for delivery next day

· Ensure proper loading for safe transport and accuracy of product, material and/or accessories

· Must complete loading of trucks before shift ends

Facility/Equipment:

· Maintain equipment and assigned areas in a neat, clean and orderly fashion

· Operate equipment safely and efficiently

· Comply with all local, OSHA and safety standards

· Keep floors, dock area, shipping area and parking lot clean, organized and free of debris

· Perform light maintenance on building

· Back in vehicles to shop nightly

Inventory:

· Keep accurate records and reports. Assist in physical inventories

· Ensure proper stock rotation, and report when low inventory is observed

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED

   Valid driver's license which meets our insurance standards

· Must have at least 3 years of distribution, driving,  warehousing and shipping/receiving experience.

· Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, divide, multiply) and write legibly.

· Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.

· Exerting up to 80 pounds of force occasionally

· Strong work ethic, attention to detail and positive attitude

· Must have a clean drivers license (NO CDL REQUIRED)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
