Overview:
In business for over 30 years, Champion Metal and Glass, Inc. is a well-established ornamental metal and glass trade contractor located in Hauppauge, NY. We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to be a part of our dynamic Project Management team!
The ideal candidate will assist in coordinating and managing various projects. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in project management within the ornamental metal and glazing sector of construction.
This is a full-time, in-office position and not remote.
Candidate MUST have the following qualifications:
- 3 years of Assistant Project Management or Project Management experience in the ornamental metals and glass industry
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Reliable self-starter with excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Highly organized with great attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously while having the ability to switch gears quickly as needed
- Ability to work under a high degree of urgency and pressure to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate the next step and independently take initiative
- Possess strong follow up skills and be able to follow through on tasks to completion
Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers with tasks required to meet deadlines
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, internal and field teams to ensure project success
- Assist in project planning, scheduling, and implementation
- Prepare and maintain project documentation
- Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment, and information
- Attend kick-off meetings for assigned projects and become familiar with each assigned job's scope of work
- Facilitate the submittal process by requesting and submitting samples, product data, shop drawings, etc. through final approval
- Work with PM to generate and continually update the project schedule to ensure deadlines and project milestones are being met
- Handle any issues that arise
- Generate and send quote requests to vendors; negotiate as necessary
- Work with project team to ensure compliance with LEED and MWBE requirements as required
- Track and generate change order requests
- Generate purchase order requests/purchase order and delivery follow-up
- Assist PM and Project Coordinator to complete closeouts
- Work with VP of Production to track work orders (fabrication tickets) within our fabrication shop to ensure product completion to meet deadlines
- Generate and distribute manifests (job delivery tickets), drop-off tickets and pick-up tickets with PMs direction
Working knowledge with the following software a must:
- Adobe Pro
- Microsoft Office
Although not required, knowledge of the following is a plus:
- Procore
- Smartsheet
- SAGE 300 CRE
Salary commensurate with experience. References required.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
