About the Role
Village Square Cooperative is seeking a skilled and motivated Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our four-person maintenance team. At Village Square Cooperative, we take pride in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our 342-unit townhouse property, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for our residents.
This hiring process is being managed by ChampionPEO, Village Square Cooperative’s payroll and HR management firm. ChampionPEO will conduct initial screenings on behalf of VSC to identify qualified candidates for the position. If selected, candidates will proceed to interviews directly with VSC’s management team.

- Job Location: In-person, specific to the property
- Shift Details: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM); weekends as needed
- Weekly Hours: 40 hours

- Urgency to Fill Position: Within 4 weeks
Job Responsibilities
As a Grounds Maintenance Worker, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Lawn Care: Mowing, trimming, and edging lawn areas using Ex Mark Laser Zero-Turn mowers and smaller lawn equipment.
- Shrub and Tree Maintenance: Light pruning of shrubs and small trees.
- Sprinkler System: Turning on/off sprinkler systems and performing basic repairs as necessary.
- Debris Removal: Daily pickup of brush and debris throughout the grounds and emptying trash receptacles.
- Seasonal Work: Removing leaves in the fall and clearing snow in the winter using snow removal equipment.
- Housing Maintenance: Opportunity to learn and assist with basic housing maintenance tasks.
- Team Collaboration: Working effectively as part of a five-person maintenance team.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have at least 2 years of experience in grounds maintenance.
- Are skilled in using Ex Mark Laser Zero-Turn mowers and other smaller lawn equipment.
- Have experience with snow removal equipment and are willing to work in winter conditions.
- Have basic knowledge of sprinkler systems, including operation and repair.
- Are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Are self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Can report on time for their shift.
