Position Summary:
This is a professional Parent Engagement Specialist position with a specialized focus on oversight of the program’s quality assurance. This requires adherence to the Parents as Teachers National Office Essential Requirements and Blue-Ribbon Affiliate Quality Standards, Council on Accreditation Standards, and funding requirements. The Parent Engagement Specialist will manage all referrals to the Parents as Teachers program. This will involve following up on all referrals, initiating the intake process and any follow ups as required.
Essential Functions::
• Ensure compliance with Parents as Teachers Essential Requirements and the Blue-Ribbon Affiliate Quality Standards, funding
requirements and Council on Accreditation.
• Periodically review all program procedures for continuous quality improvement update and develop as needed to include service
delivery, documentation, assessments, professional development, etc.
• Remain abreast of affiliate changes and collaborate with Parents as Teachers leadership team to ensure best practice standards
are being implemented and followed in an effective manner.
• In partnership with Lead Parent Educators and Quality Assurance Specialist maintain referral log and assign referrals daily.
• Attend supervision individually, and as a team with Parents as Teachers leadership, monthly.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.
• Obtain competency-based professional development and renew parent educator certification annually as required.
Qualifications:
- Must have Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, three years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management, organizational and record keeping skills
- Ability to write reports, correspondence and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook and MS Word, data input, and internet research.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English (Bilingual Required).
- Ability to walk, stand, climb stairs, kneel, bend, reach, and manipulate objects; drive a vehicle, move materials up to 10 pounds on a regular basis; infrequently require moving materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Must be flexible to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must be sensitive to the socioeconomically and culturally diverse population Champions for Children serves.
- Must have a reliable vehicle, active auto insurance, and valid Florida driver’s license.
- Must be able to successfully complete a Level 2 criminal background check, motor vehicle records check and drug screening.
