Duties
- Provide one-on-one support to clients in various stages of recovery.
- Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans that align with their goals.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage positive behavior changes.
- Offer crisis intervention services as needed, ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Collaborate with other professionals in social work and mental health counseling to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and interactions in compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Serve as a mentor and role model, sharing personal experiences when appropriate to inspire hope and resilience.
Requirements
- Certified Peer Recovery training is a bonus, but not a requirement
- Experience or training in addiction counseling, behavioral health, or related fields.
- Strong skills in crisis management and intervention techniques.
- Familiarity with social work systems and resources available for clients.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of mental health counseling practices is preferred.
- Certification or relevant qualifications in recovery coaching or related areas is a plus.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of recovery support.
