What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN position at Champlain Valley Family Center?
Champlain Valley Family Center is a growing Integrated Behavioral Healthcare Clinic. We are looking to hire a part-time RN to work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 7 am-1:30 PM. Primary duties will be working with our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and clients to monitor key healthcare indicators and assist in healthcare referrals. Pay is dependent on experience.
Responsibilities include:
-Assessing patient nursing care needs- planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to patients, documenting and reporting to proper authorities, and making appropriate referrals to provide continuity of care.
-Maintaining essential nursing records and reports
-Responsible for controlled substances and medical supplies, keeping track and making sure they are on hand, ordered on time, or disposed of properly
-Completing medical assessments for clients being admitted for services; documenting necessary referrals for additional medical services, and providing primary counselor with health-related recommendations
-Assessing levels of withdrawal from substance use using CIWA and/or COWS scale.
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY State
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
