What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Assistant position at Champlain Valley Head Start?
Head Start is a federally funded, national child and family development program which provides comprehensive services for pregnant women, children from birth to age five, and their families. Services for children promote school readiness, and include early education, health, nutrition, mental health, and services for children with special needs. Services for parents promote family engagement and include parent leadership and social service supports. As Classroom Assistant at our Franklin Square Early Learning Center, you will support the classroom teaching team and provide direct care to a child(ren) who needs additional support in the classroom as determined.
This role involves assisting with daily activities, providing active supervision, attending child-specific meetings, and completing specialized or required training. This is a 30 hour per week position, approximately 42 weeks/year (based on school schedule).
