About the Opportunity
The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) is seeking a part-time Instructional Designer contractor to support our Curriculum Sync (CSync) team within the Education Initiative. In this role, you will help shape how high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) are implemented across various Learning Management Systems (LMS), ensuring that digital curriculum experiences are optimized for teachers and students. This position offers an opportunity to influence how educational content is delivered at scale while maintaining pedagogical integrity.

You'll Be Successful If You Have
- 5 years of experience in instructional design, preferably in K-12 education
- Deep understanding of Learning Management Systems (particularly Canvas and Google Classroom)
- Experience implementing curriculum in digital environments
- Strong knowledge of pedagogical best practices and instructional models
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Experience with quality assurance processes in educational content
Responsibilities
- Design and document best practices for structuring HQIM within various LMS platforms
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize curriculum implementation
- Evaluate LMS constraints and opportunities to enhance the teaching and learning experience
- Ensure instructional integrity of materials across different digital configurations
- Support district implementation through consultation and guidance
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of curriculum implementations
- Provide pedagogical expertise to inform technical decisions
- Partner with Knowledge Graph team to align data structures with instructional needs
