JOB DESCRIPTION: HOST
Summary:
Responsible for welcoming and seating each guest promptly and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibility:
- Welcome and seat guests promptly and efficiently
- Accurately handle guest payment (if required)
- Answers telephone by identifying self and restaurant, speaking clearly and sincerely. Take To Go orders, messages and transfer calls to appropriate party.
- Promptly handle guest concerns, notifying Manager in a timely manner, so concern can be addressed prior to guest departure
- Clean and stock host service area as needed
- Complete opening and/or closing duties as assigned
- Assist servers and other team members as requested
- Perform all other duties or special projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent Guest Service skills
- Must be able to follow directions, accurately make change and handle different methods of payment
- Excellent communication skills to verbally communicate effectively with guests, associates and vendors
- Must be able to use a computer for settling guest checks, ringing in to go orders and for timekeeping purposes
- Professional conduct at all times
- Must be able to stand and walk for duration of shift
- Minimum lifting, pushing and pulling of 40 pounds
- Pushing, bending, stooping, walking, upward reaching, manual dexterity, seeing, hearing, writing and typing
