As the Human Resources Generalist you'll play a pivotal role in supporting key HR functions from employee record management and compliance to payroll, benefits and employee relations. You'll be the go-to expert for tracking and analyzing ER cases, managing accommodations, and facilitating compliance and ER-related training. As the Human Resources Generalist you'll play a pivotal role in supporting key HR functions from employee record management and compliance to payroll, benefits and employee relations. ‖ Responsibilities Include:
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving employment-related issues and concerns.
- Processing new hire information and ensuring accurate documentation in the company’s HRIS database.
- Providing employees with information regarding policies, benefits, and HR programs.
- Participating in internal investigations through collaboration with leadership and HR teams.
- Responding to employee complaints submitted to state and federal agencies.
- Facilitating the interactive process under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related laws.
- Partnering with leadership, employees, and HR teams to implement reasonable accommodations.
- Supporting workforce reduction efforts by coordinating documentation and assisting with leadership reviews.
- Assisting in performance management processes, including drafting documentation such as written warnings and performance improvement plans.
- Conducting in-house compliance and HR-related training sessions.
- Analyzing HR data and creating reports for internal review.
- Maintaining employee files, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Assisting with J1 hiring and onboarding processes.
- Collecting data and preparing reports for special projects.
- Monitoring and responding to HR-related voicemail and email inquiries.
- Performing other assigned duties as needed.
- Bachelors degree or higher in human resources or a closely related field of study.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a human resources credential preferred.
- Minimum of 3yr's prior experience working in human resources, with a strong background in employee relations and field partnerships.
- Prior experience working in the education industry preferred, but not required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, regulations and HR best practices including Title VII, ADA, ADAA and FMLA.
- Prior experience and/or highly proficient in reading, writing, analyzing and interpreting detailed reports and business correspondence.
- Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem solving, and decision-making ability.
- Proven ability to handle complex employee relations issues confidentially and objectively.
- History of success building credibility, effectively managing multiple projects and collaborating across all organizational levels.
- Well-versed in the use of relevant technology including experience with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of HR software and the use of online recruiting platforms preferred.
