Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and implementing instructional processes for Middle School and High School students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement effective education plans for students with diverse needs
• Provide direct subject-based instruction and/or co-teach curricular subjects as required in IEP
• Accommodate or modify curriculum and assist with differentiated instruction for students as well as staff
• Use various instructional strategies and resources to respond to the diverse needs and interests of students
• Act as case manager to special education students, updating IEPs and goals as needed
• Prepare daily lesson plans and materials for assigned class
• Maintain the classroom, furniture, and supplies in a neat and orderly condition according to procedure
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study
• Meet all state teaching license and/or certification requirements
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a special education credential
• Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction in a middle school and/or high school classroom setting
• Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, particularly for students with severe learning, emotional behavioral disorders, and/or other related disabilities
• Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students that help move them toward realistic goals
