GENERAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Ability to speak and understand English.
3. Ability to safely operate a forklift (experience not required, will train the right candidate.)
4. Must have basic reading & writing skills to read labels, literature, SOP’s, etc.
5. Ability to learn use of computer and our business software package.
6. Must have reliable means of transportation and ability to be on time to work each day.
7. Must be able to meet department standards for productivity, quality, pick time and housekeeping skills.
8. Good work ethic and ability to interface effectively with others inside the warehouse and all other departments in a fast-paced team environment.
9. Abide by all safety rules and expectations.
10. Attention to detail is a must.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The primary function of this position is the pulling, packing and shipping of outbound LTL orders.
2. Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager on any pick sheet discrepancies.
3. When caught up with LTL orders you will assist in Parcel, Receiving or anywhere else you are needed.
4. Any other duties assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
ESSENTIAL SAFETY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Carry out work in a manner so as not to create a health and safety hazard to yourself or others. FORKLIFT SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT TO THIS. DO NOT ABUSE YOUR PRIVILEGE TO USE THE FORKLIFT. MAINTAIN A SAFE SPEED AT ALL TIMES (5 MPH INSIDE THE WAREHOUSE) AND REFER TO THE FORKLIFT SAFETY MANAUL FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS ON FORKLIFT SAFETY.
2. Assist in the reduction and controlling of accidents as needed.
3. Report any incidents, near misses, injuries, or illnesses to the Warehouse Manager NOTE: report incidents and near misses so that the situation can be analyzed to see if there is a better way to do it so as not to have the situation arise again.
4. Use the correct tools and equipment for the job. Keep tools, straps, etc. in good condition and notify the Warehouse Manager of anything that needs replaced or causes a safety hazard.
5. Use appropriate safety equipment and clothing.
6. Report defects in workplace equipment to the Warehouse Manager.
7. Read, understand, and comply with workplace safety policy, industry standard work practices and procedures.
