Summary:
Assemble simple units consisting of small numbers of component parts in a manner which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards.
Opportunities on our Split Shift: Monday – Thursday, 12:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. (Includes a $3.00/hour shift differential!)
Requirements:Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Assembles component parts that meet specifications of units.
- Works with both simple and complex set-ups using various hand tools, equipment, fixtures, and tools.
- Prepare components or assemblies to be packaged for shipment.
- Responsible for individual quality of workmanship.
- Maintains an organized, clean, and safe environment and maintains 5 “S” standards. Complies with safety rules including Personal Protective Equipment and OSHA standards.
- Participates in Lean initiatives eliminating wastes including overproduction, defects, transportation, waiting, inventory, motion, and over-processing.
- Maintains a positive work attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the department.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities).
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proficient reading, writing, oral communication, and comprehension in English language.
- Demonstrated high level of mechanical hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to read basic tolerances and simple dimensions on blueprints and use measuring instruments.
- Ability to use all necessary inspection tools.
- Positive attitude, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to maintain a high concentration level while doing repetitive work.
- Cooperative attitude, shares critical information, and remains professional in difficult situations.
- Self-directed; ability to work independently and within teams.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All employees must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Additional Skills and Experience (Preferred or helpful)
- Prior small component assembly experience (medical / aerospace).
