SUMMARY :
The Quality Engineer will perform analysis, identify trends, and implement improvements in Chandler’s operations. Identify and eliminate supplier and manufacturing defects, non-conformities, problems or other issues affecting the quality or reliability of Chandler products. Will also develop testing methods for use in analysis of company products and statistical techniques for analysis of test data.
Requirements :
- Reviews customer Purchase Order and Contract requirements to communicate quality requirements to responsible departments.
- Reviews product discrepancies in manufacturing, performs investigations and coordinates with manufacturing and engineering to resolve problems.
- Performs statistical analysis, identifies trends, and implements changes related to defects in supplier, manufacturing, return goods and customer data.
- Develops / writes protocols, coordinates the testing, and writes reports for validation activities, component qualification activities, IQ / OQ / PQ, PPAP, gauge R&R studies.
- Understands and applies the manufacturing quality toolset including sampling plans, control plans, process capability, SPC, DOE, process data analysis to ensure that quality is designed into products and processes.
- Reviews pre-released technical data from Engineering for compliance to customer requirements, approved OSV processers, contract requirements and identify the customer requirements of onsite source inspection.
- Technical resource for the initiation and implementation of cost improvement plans on new and existing programs.
- Leads development and review of inspection plans and protocols.
- Validates process effectiveness and leads continual improvement of system and manufacturing processes.
- Manages the qualification of processes performed by suppliers; troubleshoots, leads corrective actions relating to supplier’s performance; defines processes for supplier data submission to reduce internal inspections.
- Facilitates communication between process owners, Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality to reduce internal process variability, by development and implementation of statistical incoming and in-process sampling / quality control plans.
- Partners with quality and engineering to create robust receiving inspection plans focused on critical process attributes. Ensures strong supplier controls are in place for reduced and dock-to-stock inspection receiving plans are in place.
- Coordinates with key personnel to identify and implement corrective actions to eliminate internal, supplier and manufacturer defects.
- Identifies and develops high quality suppliers utilizing supplier audits, evaluations, and ongoing continuous improvement to ensure Chandler’s supplier quality standards are being met.
- Develops, implements, and assists with training on continuous improvement methods.
- Completes other assignments as requested.
