Exercises general oversight and accountability for the technical support of providers by Endoscopy Technicians in endoscopy procedures and for all aspects of high level disinfection ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. Provides hands-on general and advanced Endoscopy Technician training and education in coordination with the Endoscopy Educator. This position ensures quality and safety standards are met by all Endoscopy Technicians in technical performance quality improvement safety and infection control and that all equipment and endoscopes undergo high level disinfection and reprocessing according to current regulatory standards.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
- Oversees and trains Endoscopy Technicians in general and advanced endoscopy procedure technical skills, ensuring safe and efficient coordination of general and advanced endoscopy procedures, coordinating with vendors as needed.
- Ensures infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards of manual and automated high level disinfectionprocesses are met and maintained in accordance with AAMI (Association for the Advancement of MedicalInstrumentation), CDC (Centers for Disease Control) and other relative regulatory and standards bodies.
- Oversees management, storage and repair of endoscopes and equipment in coordination with department leadership and Clinical Engineering.
- Contributes/responsible for meeting department goals (patient experience, employee experience, supply cost reduction, productivity).
- Participates and supports personnel-related functions (interviewing, hiring, corrective action, training, etc.).
- Manages all equipment, material and disposable products in the Endoscopy department and coordinates setting accurate PAR levels with Materials management. Ensures equipment needs for procedures are met.
- Maintains relationships with vendors and coordinates their presence within the department and in procedures.
- Coordinates preparation for major inspections including Environment of Care (EOC), State Department of Health and Human Services , Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC), and other regulatory health agencies

Education:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Licensure:
BLS-CPR American Heart Association required
