Certification Details
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
- Active AZ license or compact license
- TNCC is preferred
- THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
- The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred).
- Travelers could also float to the sister facility Mercy Gilbert, if needed.
- Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage.
- Flexibility is a must.
- Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
- There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).
- COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.
- A FULL 3 YEARS OF RECENT ICU EXPERIENCE
- Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills
- Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes
- UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position. MAX ATTEMPTS IS 2
- Self scheduling. Manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.
- 3 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule, Nightshift weekends are Friday - Saturday. Dayshift are Saturday - Sunday
- May have 1 holiday off in an assignment
- No additional call/standby shifts required. However, may be low censused up to 3 times per contract depending on unit needs
- Min EOW (could work up to 3 wknds/mo), first to float
- Self scheduling is allowed, but manager may need to balance shifts for unit needs.
- Floating to telemetry with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed
- Navy is the scrub color/dress code
- Charge Nurse present, does not take patients
- No nurse aids on unit, only used for sitters and as Health Unit Secretary
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house 24/7
- RT in ICU 24/7
- No monitor techs on unit, RN required to interpret own strip. GE monitors used.
- Will validate skills for trauma, neuro and specialty devices as needed.

- NO EXCEPTIONS

- Sister units are a medical/cardiac 36 bed ICU & 12 bed overflow ICU.
- Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs.
- Okay with first-time traveler, however must have 3 years experience (with 2 of those years in the ICU).
- Level 1 experience or neuro experience not required but preferred.
- Prefer prior experience work at a similar size unit ICU.
