JOB TITLE: Chandler Learning Center Director
REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Student Personalized Learning
CALENDAR: 12 MONTHS
RANGE: AS PER DIRECTOR SALARY SCHEDULE
Job Goals
The Director of the Chandler Learning Center Public Day School is the administrative and instructional leader of the site. The Director assumes full responsibility for all aspects of the site including implementation of the instructional program, facilities operation and maintenance, school/community relations, business affairs of the school as they relate to the overall mission of the district and the school, and the utilization and development of staff and faculty. In doing so, the Director makes the most efficient utilization of resources available in providing the maximum instructional benefit to all students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree and Administrative Coursework in Education Related Field
- Appropriate Arizona administrative certification
- Special Education degree
- Knowledge of state standards and research-based instruction
- Knowledge of the IDEA and its implementation regarding the providing of Special Education and related services
- Demonstrated classroom teaching ability
- Successful administrative experience desired
Core Job Functions
- District Responsibilities: Develop regulations, procedures and plans which reflect Board policy and provide maximum efficiency to support the educational program and perform all responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.
- Leadership: Promote positive action toward the realization of school and district goals through efficient procedures, academic, and active engagement of staff, students, parents, and community. Interpret, implement and enforce board policy, administrative regulations, and implementation of the IDEA relating to the school.
- Personnel: Participate with the Human Resources Administration, in conjunction with district personnel policies, in the selection and evaluation of quality instructional faculty. Effectively communicate with staff to keep them informed.
- Student Achievement: Establish goals and high expectations for teaching and learning including ensuring the utilization of district adopted curriculum materials inclusive of supplemental materials to instruct sites and provide the specially designed instruction as outlined in the student’s individual learning plan (IEP).
- Professional Development: Keep abreast of current research and consider the implementation of innovative techniques which will benefit students placed in the private day setting including promoting and participating in teacher learning and development.
- Business: Develop budget recommendations for maintenance and operations and capital outlay as the Superintendent may direct, including monitoring and approving expenditures of funds allocated to the school through the budget and other sources.
- Facilities: Effectively utilize and maintain site facilities to provide an appropriate learning environment and reasonable health and safety considerations for students and staff.
- School/Community Relations: Maintain close contact and rapport with all interested parties, including students, staff, parents and the community concerning the operation of the school and instructional program.
Salary : $79,670 - $108,593
