Job Goal
Lead students toward developing the attributes of a CUSD Portrait of a Learner (global citizenship, adaptability, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and empathy) through entrepreneurship, career literacy and professional pathways, and financial literacy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid State of Arizona Teaching Certificate, K-6
- Meets all certification requirements for the grade level(s) or subject area including proper teaching area endorsements
- Meets certification requirements for North Central Accrediting Association where applicable
- Preferred: In possession or commitment to pursue an endorsement in the area of Gifted education
Core Job Functions
- Plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities with students in entrepreneurship and financial literacy.
- Guide students in career literacy and professional pathways.
- Design lessons and outcome measures using a combination of state and national standards outlined by the National Financial Educators Council, Financial Literacy and Education Commission, and ADE K-8 Career Literacy Standards and CTE Professional Skills Standards.
- Create a quarterly plan describing learning experiences, correlated with aims and objectives of specific standards in each grade level.
- Communicate to and collaborate with students the aims and objectives for the specific standards in each grade level.
- Use effective teaching strategies and innovative resources and materials to implement established curriculum goals and objectives.
- Monitor, assess, and communicate student progress to students and their parents.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support grade level standards across subjects, expanding on financial literacy standards in each grade level band.
- Develop and implement classroom norms and procedures that support student learning and achievement.
- Create educational experiences that provide each student the opportunity to develop their potential in critical thinking, communication, collaboration, commerce, creativity, and confidence along with financial intelligence and resiliency.
- Promote and follow adopted school district philosophy, policies, regulations, and administrative procedures.
- Communicate ideas and concerns with colleagues, students, parents and community in a positive, professional, and ethical manner.
- Assume legal responsibility for the supervision of students on school property or in attendance at school-sponsored activities.
- Maintain and grow your own professional competence.
- Assume individual responsibilities which may be assigned by the principal/supervisor and which may relate to committee work, student activities, student supervision or other planning and professional assignments.
- Maintain accurate, complete, legible and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
