SALARY: ADMINISTRATOR SCHEDULE $118,215 - $160,425
General Description:
The Executive Director of Student Personalized Learning is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and advancing the district's commitment to personalized learning for all students. This role will provide strategic direction and leadership in the areas of special education, Section 504, counseling and social services, and health services, ensuring equitable access to high-quality support systems that meet the diverse needs of all students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in education, special education, counseling, or a related field required.
- Valid state licensure in education or a related field.
- Minimum five years of successful experience in educational leadership roles, including experience in special education, counseling, and/or health services.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative programs and initiatives.
- Strong understanding of current research and best practices in personalized learning, special education, counseling, and school health.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead and supervise staff effectively.
Job Core Functions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive district-wide vision for personalized learning that aligns with district goals and best practices.
- Oversee the development and implementation of innovative programs and initiatives to support student success, including:
- Special Education and Section 504:
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations related to special education and section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
- Oversee the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and related services.
- Oversee the development and implementation of student accommodation plans under Section 504.
- Foster inclusive practices and support the integration of students with disabilities into general education settings.
- Lead professional development for staff on effective instructional strategies and support for students with diverse learning needs.
- Counseling and Social Services:
- Provide leadership for a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses the social-emotional, academic, and career development needs of all students.
- Oversee the provision of social services, including crisis intervention, family support, and mental health services.
- Promote a positive school climate and address issues such as bullying, harassment, and discrimination.
- Health Services:
- Oversee the provision of school health services, including physical and mental health assessments, immunizations, and health education.
- Collaborate with community health partners to ensure access to quality healthcare for all students.
- Promote healthy lifestyles and address health-related concerns that impact student learning.
- Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement data-driven systems to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee the development and implementation of budgets for all programs and services within the department.
- Collaborate with school leaders, teachers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation and continuous improvement.
- Staff Supervision and Development:
- Provide leadership and supervision to department staff, including special education specialists, school psychologists, counselors, social workers, nurses, and other support personnel.
- Recruit, hire, and train qualified staff.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment that values collaboration and professional growth.
- Communication and Collaboration:
- Build and maintain strong transparent relationships with parents, families, and community partners.
- Communicate consistently and effectively with stakeholders regarding program initiatives, student progress, and important information.
- Serve as a district-level representative on relevant committees and boards.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to special education, student services, and school health.
- Knowledge of data-driven decision making and program evaluation.
- Strong understanding of child development and learning theories.
