One of our Healthcare Client is seeking qualified Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) to join our team. The MLT will perform a variety of clinical laboratory tests to support patient diagnosis and treatment, ensuring high standards of accuracy and competency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct medical laboratory tests in areas such as chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, bacteriology, serology, parasitology, and blood banking.
- Collect, cultivate, isolate, identify, and analyze specimens; prepare tissue sections for microscopic analysis; and perform blood grouping, typing, and crossmatching.
- Perform minor maintenance and calibration of diagnostic equipment.
- Read and interpret physicians' or supervisors' orders to determine testing requirements.
- Explain test procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and reduce anxiety.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, logs, files, and reports.
- Conduct appropriate clinical test preparation and processing procedures.
- Graduation from a standard high school (or equivalent) with one year of in-service training in a Medical Laboratory Assistant Program accredited by the American Medical Association; OR two years of experience in a medical laboratory under direct supervision of an MLT, medical technologist, or physician; OR an associate degree from an accredited college/university in an accredited medical laboratory program.
- Must hold West Virginia Clinical Laboratory Technician and Technologist Licensure and Certification.
- Competency assessment documentation, including age-specific and cultural competencies,
- Competitive hourly rate of $28.00. - $36/hr
- Collaborative work environment in a community hospital setting.
